Field Trips 2015
The University of Arizona Eller College of Management Marketing Minor toured KVOA-TV Ch 4 (NBC Affiliate). Pictured with the class are morning news anchor Nichole Szemerei and weather anchor Jeff Beamish. General Sales Manager Jeff Green conducted the tour and gave information about how Television fits into the IMC process - a great relationship medium, and President and General Manager Bill Shaw addressed the students about television, resumes, cell phone etiquette and interviewing.
In the MKTG 307 - Creative Advertising course, the Marketing Minor Students got to visit iHEART Media. The tour was directed by Dewayne Chavez (Program director and on air KRQ) and “Rico” Eddie Hernandez (on air personality HOT 98.3) and was coordinated by station General Manager Debra Wagner and assistant Daniella Grijalva. The discussion centered on how RADIO plays an important role in Integrated Marketing Communications and is a viable choice for advertisers.
Tony Proudfoot, Associate Vice President of Marketing Communications and Brand Management, University of Arizona -shared his perspectives on branding for our MKT 309 Summer Marketing Minors. He gave a presentation on the University’s Bigger Questions-Better Answers-Bear Down campaign based on the BOUNDLESS Big Idea for the institution. It was great to see him interweaving many of the concepts the students have learned in the classroom into his presentation! There were many questions, and the students enjoyed his presentation.
