A group of University of Arizona professional sales students who are members of the Eller Professional Sales Club (EPSC) were among 12 university sales teams to compete in the final round of the AT&T National Sales Competition.
EPSC team members Bamdad Mohaghegh, Erin Tatum, Connor Shepherd and Michael Forte began the contest on Sept. 25, when the group competed against more than 30 colleges and universities in a virtual preliminary round.
In this initial round, the team had to pitch AT&T’s technology to a mid-sized insurance company. The students watched a prerecorded sales interaction then worked as a team during a live video meeting to find the company’s needs, present a solution, answer questions or concerns, then close for the sale.
On October 19th the Arizona sales students traveled to the AT&T’s headquarters in Dallas, Texas, for the final round of the collegiate sales contest. The EPSC team earned a second place finish in the competition and collected a check for $5,000 for the Eller Marketing Department. Each student was also awarded a $1,000 scholarship check. All students on the team also received offers for sales internships and full-time sales jobs.
The Eller Professional Sales Club students are coached by Sam Williams and Jerry Kollross. For more information about the club you can go to https://epsalesclub.com/
