Marketing Student Associations

Marketing-related student organizations — American Marketing Association, Advertising Federation, and Sports Marketing Association — are active not only in the Marketing Department, but also across the UA campus and beyond. Participating is a great way to network with fellow students as well as marketing faculty and professionals.

Join, Participate, Lead...

There are three student organizations specifically for marketing majors or those with strong interests in different aspects of marketing. At the beginning of each semester, the clubs run membership drives. Information will be sent over the marketing major listserv, and you will see flyers and recruiting tables around McClelland Hall. You can receive academic and professional benefits from joining one or more of these organizations. These organizations also offer many opportunities to gain leadership experience.

American Marketing Association - UA Collegiate Chapter

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the largest organization serving marketing professionals in the world. The AMA sponsors collegiate chapters for those who are interested in entering the marketing profession upon graduation. The UA collegiate chapter typically meets one evening per week. The club has career workshops, guest speakers from different marketing professions, recruiters, philanthropic activities, and fund-raising activities. Select members also participate in the case competition and attend the national conference held each year in the spring in New Orleans, LA.

The University of Arizona Advertising Federation

The American Advertising Federation is the largest organization for those in the advertising rofession. The student club meets weekly in the evenings. Activities include Shadow Day with students visiting professional advertising agencies, fundraisers, social activities and weekly meetings with speakers on advertising topics. Some members of the club compete each year in the National Advertising Student Competition with over 200 collegiate chapters. In the spring semester, there will be a one-unit internship course for those who are accepted into the competition.

Sports Marketing Association

The goal of The University of Arizona Sports Marketing Club is to help students gain first hand experience in the field of sports marketing. The club typically meets on alternative Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in the McKale Room (3rd floor McKale Center). Each semester, the club implements a student run promotion for a University of Arizona sports team or a professional sports team. They also have speakers from the sports industry, and the club benefits from the strong relationship with the UA Athletic Department.
